E-skills for Impact

Last week, INVENTO family was fortunate to host a group of absolutely awesome and dedicated youth workers from 6 countries, such as: Luxembourg, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Greece and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who were selected to take part into „E-skills for Impact” project.

„E-skills for Impact” project, which was held from May 8th to 13th, represents a 6 six day training course that aims to equip youth leaders and youth workers with a set of e-tools that will give them the opportunity to excel at online management and communication with their stakeholders, volunteers, and mass-media; to access new programs from various web-platforms; to plan digital communication strategies; and to become more efficient in their activities.

E-skills for Impact

Why „E-skills for Impact”? Nowadays we are living in the so called Digital Era. The Digital Era is characterized by technology which increases the speed and breadth of knowledge turnover within the economy and society. You cannot live in these times without being touched by the impact of the e-technologies. Even a youth worker has to adjust his or her activity to meet the digital requirements. But more than that, why wouldn't we use our e-skills if this could facilitate our everyday work? That was the question which basically marked the start of our 'digital journey'.

E-skills for Impact

During 6 days, we dived into the Digital World, learning as much as possible about: online platforms for internal communication,  project management and collaborative work, crowdfunding and digital tools for fundraising, online platforms for design, digital marketing for NGOs and many other things a modern NGO worker has to deal with.

The same week our training was going on, the biggest regional Digital Conference was taking place in Moldova. Coincidence? We don't think so :) During two days, as we attended more than 10 presentations and four workshops at Rockit Conference, we had the possibility to learn directly from the world’s digital industry experts, such as: George Carey-Simos, Co-Founder & COO at  We are Social MediaCameron Manwaring, Co-Founder at ShareAbility, Beata Biel, Journalist & Media Training Specialist, Nino Macharashvili,  president at DigiComNet; to get ideas and inspiration and to network with specialists from the digital marketing field, business and social entrepreneurship.

By the end of the project, our participants confessed:

„The project "E-tools for impact" was a much needed training for me and my foundation in this period of time. My foundation, Voices does amazing work in the field of human rights, but we lacked the needed use of e-tools in order to have greater impact. Now, with the experiences and tools that I got from the mentioned training, I can start having impact on our communities more effectively”, Tahmina Ashraf, NGO leader from the Netherlands.

„What a nice week in Moldova! The E-Skills training course has been highly inspiring for me. The group dynamics was at its best, we were able to share our experiences, challenges and expectations in a very constructive way. Thanks to this training I came back with a mind full of ideas that I can’t wait to implement before our next meeting”, Johanna Vigne, Women in Digital Empowerment / WIDE, Luxembourg.

Oh, by the way, this training is just half of the whole 'digital' adventure, so keep your eyes on us, cause the second mobility is coming soon. To be continued...

„E-skills for Impact” is an Erasmus+ mobility implemented by INVENTO and Women in Digital Empowerment (WIDE) from Luxembourg with the financial support of the European Comission.
